We work hard to make sure you are going the right speed, and holding the correct form to avoid the risk of injury. We keep accurate records of your progress and support you to make sure that you are getting everything possible out of every single workout.
The slow motion technique is based on over 25 years of research and study. It was developed by Ken Hutchins for use in a research project on osteoporosis at the University of Florida in the early 1980’s. He found that slowing down the movements in weight training allowed even those with brittle bones to get the benefits of increased muscle strength and bone density. Slow motion reduced the risk of injury and produced incredible results. Jan Champion, one of the owners of Shortcut to Fitness, was personally trained and certified in the slow motion technique by its founder, Ken Hutchins.
While adhering to the basic slow motion theories, we have created some important innovations and adaptations for our clients that take our program to an even higher level. We utilize state-of-the-art computer controlled compressed air equipment, important relaxation techniques, and a greater focus on a combination of three pillars for fitness and better health: resistance training, nutrition, and active lifestyle.
